Policy Making Outputs

DUET is developed by cities for cities. DUET’s digital twins promote data-driven decision making by building a comprehensive, virtual representation of a city's processes. With the right data points, DUET digital twins provide a business-level view that can be used to measure, analyse and predict operational impact across an entire city or region. This end-to-end, real-time, visibility enables cities to understand what is happening across its multi-disciplinary domains and services. With this knowledge, cities can react quickly to events and simulate alternative policy and operational approaches based on real data, as opposed to making assumptions based on generalized expectations.

Results from DUET that are useful for policy making can be found below.

DT-Gov-12 Cluster Projects
The Policy Cloud project aims to harness the potential of digitisation, big data and cloud technologies to improve the modelling, creation and implementation of policy. In three years (2020-2023) the project will address challenges faced by many businesses and public administrations of improving how they make policy decisions by accessing and using data.

Funded under the European Commission’s H2020 programme, the project will deliver a unique, integrated environment of curated datasets and data management, manipulation, and analysis tools addressing the full lifecycle of policy management in four distinct thematic areas, and using the data analysis capabilities of the European Cloud Initiative.

The 14-partner consortium is led by ATOS Spain and represents a diverse range of large companies, cloud providers, SMEs, research centres, and policy makers which together provide the skills combination required for effective, data-driven policy co-creation and cross-sector optimisation.

The consortium aims to make a real impact in 4 different pilot cases across Europe which can boost economic growth and enhance the lives of citizens.
The objective of IntelComp is to deliver a platform that provides tools for assisting the whole spectrum of STI policy, i.e., agenda setting, modeling design, implementation, monitoring and evaluation.

It will do so by involving multi-disciplinary teams to co-develop innovative analytics services, Natural Language Processing pipelines and Artificial Intelligence workflows and by exploiting open data, services and computational resources from the EOSC, HPC environments and federated distributed operations at the European Union, national and regional level.
