About the Event
Digital Urban Twins will support local administrations in better urban planning and real-time decision-making. In the world of engineering, Digital Twins are already generating a huge impact by making the need for physical prototypes and lengthy testing obsolete in many cases. The concept represents a convergence of sever-maturing digital technologies such as remote sensing, artificial intelligence, high-performance computing, building information management, and complex, spatial, and contextual 3D and 4D modelling.
Cities and communities everywhere are facing tough problems where digital twins can provide the knowledge and tools to help drive radical change in the areas of climate, pollution, mobility, liveability, health, circular engineering, energy, and the list goes on. Policymakers and city technologists will have to find and shape the new role of cities in a digital, sustainable world, develop the necessary digital capacities in-house or through meaningful co-operations, and adopt a new collaborative mindset towards data and digital tools across the administration.
This session will bring together some of the current leaders in the world of digital twins to discuss the challenges at hand.
